Mull & Iona Environmentally Sensitive Solutions

MESS is a community initiative that provides local solutions to the waste and environmental issues that affect our communities, and brings economic as well as environmental benefits to Mull and Iona.

The MESS project now runs three charity shops, aptly named Island Castaways, in Bunessan, Craignure and Tobermory.

COLLECTIONS

Pay as you go recycling service to businesses on Mull. This scheme operates with the support of Argyll & Bute Council.

MESS INFO

The MESS project was started by Mull and Iona Community Trust in 2002 as a community driven venture to find practical solutions to environmental issues on the islands. Working closely with Argyll and Bute council the project initially operated bring site recycling services.

MESS seeks to engage the communities of Mull and Iona in practical activities to Reduce Reuse and Recycle their waste.
